Anyway..I am trying to focus on the positive and not the negative! On to some cuteness. I ended up doing 2 of these, one for the Healey family and one for future Fullmer babies.

Quiet Book 1.0
I spent the entire summer working like crazy to get a quiet book done for my sweet Baby Evelynne before she moves to Idaho. My son in law Zach is going to be attending BYU Idaho starting in a few weeks. We will miss them all like CRAZY. It will be good for Melanie and Zach and baby, but we are already sad. They officially move in 3 days...uggg

Why HAPPY?
Oh yea...about that all caps HAPPY. Here's why. I am so sick and tired and people talking about how unhappy Mormon women are. Guess what, it's not true!! We are not all unhappy. We are human and have bad days. We are human and say things we regret later. We are human and are learning day by day just like the rest of civilization. We are human and struggle in different ways and choose happiness day by day. For me the words Mormon and Happy are synonymous! And today...I'm HAPPY!
Created out of necessity
I am excited about this new blog adventure. I called a good friend a couple of days ago and said "Whatcha doing?" Her reply...."Just catching up on my journaling". Seriously?? She was actually utilizing her time when her girls were napping and doing something enriching for her soul! Love that woman! Keeping a journal has always been a challenge for me. I'm hoping that this blog will help me in my resolve to chronicle my life a little better.
I chose the blog name because I have always loved the scripture found in 2 Nephi 5:27: "And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness" The back story is that there is a great family divide after his father dies and the two groups physically separate. The chapter then goes on to outline how one group decides to live. First, they listen and head the promptings of the Lord when he tells Nephi to leave or he will murdered by some of his brothers. So, if you continue to read the chapter you will clearly see a pattern that they establish among themselves to be a happy people.
1. Obey the promptings and warning of the Lord (vs. 5)
2. Observe and keep commandments (vs. 10)
3. Work together (vs. 11)
4. Keep records (vs. 12) Yea, for journals!!
5. Fortify themselves against enemies (vs. 14)
6. Develop talents (vs. 15)
7. Build and worship in houses dedicated to the Lord (vs. 16)
8. Work some more! (vs. 17)
9. Establish order in the Church (vs. 26)
Notice, that verse 27 doesn't say "And it came to pass that we lived happily from that time forth". That is important to note because doing things that will bring happiness doesn't mean it will automatically happen or that you will necessarily be happy all the time. That's why I strive to live after the "manner" of happiness. Is my life perfect and am I happy all the time. Heck no! However, I would be incredibly ungrateful if I didn't acknowledge the incredible life that I do have and all the love that surrounds me. Whew....first post done.
